I feel the need to brag...Yesterday, I went to Kroger. Here is a breakdown of what was purchased:
--4 boxes of Lucky Charms
--3 single 9V batteries
--1 AA four pack
--4 cans of cinnamon rolls
--2 cans of Reddi-Whip
--4 64oz jugs of apple juice
--1 20oz Coke Zero
And the total for this purchase was (drumroll please): $15.84 Woot! Woot!

Sad, sad day...
Today, my beloved dog, Cady, died. She had been going downhill for the last year or two, but I really did not think she was as bad off as she was. Apparently, there was some sort of mass in her abdomen that was cancerous and it picked today to end her life.
For 14+ years, she and I had been companions. I'll miss everything about her. Her crazy two-colored eyes, the way she liked to lick my feet after I'd put on lotion, everything. She was my oldest child. Crap, now I'm crying again.
Good bye, sweet girl. I'll miss you always.

The week has definitely gotten better. The boys have been...well, not perfect angels...but still much better behaved that one might have guessed. I am VERY impressed. And now, I'm probably jinxed. Oh well, it has been a lot of fun. Today is rainy and we haven't been able to get out and play. We need the rain though, if for nothing else, than to get all the icky pollen off of every surface. Everything has a yellow haze on it and my eyes are itching like crazy!
Poor kids are sneezing and snuffling too. Thank God for Zyrtec! Even the dog has been sneezing. Fun, fun. Let's hope the rain settles things a bit.

Spring Break...or Adventures in Temper Management...
Okay, Day 2 of the Spring Break begins and I'm already annoyed. The boys were up at the crack o' dawn this morning, barracking to play with the toys they got last night. I rolled over, opened one sleepy eye and saw the time: 5:32 a.m. I said "NO" and tried to go back to sleep. Ha! Fat chance. From then on out, every 2 minutes it was "Mommy, are you awake yet?" "Mommy, can we get up now?" "Mommy, I'm hungry." and on and on until I finally had to give up and get up. I'll rise, but dammit, I won't shine. Not at that hour of the morning, and especially not on Spring Break. Let's hope the week gets better.

Watched Bill Maher last night--his "But I'm Not Wrong" stand-up routine--and laughed my a** off. A lot of what he says is not what I believe (especially his bits about religion) but I gotta admit, the man is funny. Annoying, sanctimonious and a bit too convinced of his own rightness, but he is funny. Especially when he likened Obama's entry into the Oval Office to a maid coming in to clean up after Led Zeppelin had been there. Really loved that part.
